Itinerary

Come discover the Asiago Plateau with this 3 or 4-day package that combines a stay at Col Del Sole, a Bike hotel with half board, with specially designed itineraries to let you experience the best of the plateau: from Alpine huts to pristine nature and traces of the Great War.

An outdoor experience for everyone, where mountain sports know no limits. We have planned a bike tour among the huts, suitable for both mountain bike enthusiasts and those who prefer a more leisurely ride on an E-bike or a tandem. And if you have a disability, don’t worry, we also offer the possibility to participate with a Cargo Bike accompanied by an expert.

Day 1
Start from Col del Sole and follow a 38 km loop route with an elevation gain of 450 m. The landscape around us is unique: woods, meadows, forests, and breathtaking peaks that accompany us along the edges of this territory, suspended between the abysses of the Val d’Assa and the pale Dolomite peaks. There are over 100 huts scattered throughout the area, important not only from an agricultural-rural perspective but also economically, historically, environmentally, and touristically. But what is a hut? It’s not just a place where milk, cheese, and cured meats are produced, but it represents the summer grazing activity that allows typical products to be kept alive, processed according to ancient rules. Although many huts were destroyed during the First World War, there remain on the territory examples of ancient wooden structures entirely built. Thanks to the hut, it’s possible to experience an authentic contact with nature and the local culture, immersed in a harmonious and visually rewarding landscape. During the hut visit, you will have the opportunity to learn about the hard work of the alpine farmers who start their day before dawn and finish after sunset, but also to taste typical local products.

Day 2
The Old Railway Route is an easy 25 km bike path built where there used to be a railway. You start and end at the Col del Sole Bike & Wellness Hotel, it’s suitable for everyone, perfect to do from April to October. You can follow the route on your own with the help of GPS or apps like Komoot, or with a mountain bike guide.

Day 3
Fort Corbin and Monte Cengio Trail. An easy 20 km route with an elevation gain of 200 meters that takes you to discover the historical places of the Asiago Plateau, on the traces of the Great War. Fort Corbin was a large fortress built by the Italians during the First World War to defend the plateau. Today it’s a museum that you can visit, and it’s right on the edge of the plain with a breathtaking view. The route starts from the Col del Sole Bike & Wellness Hotel and takes you to the Church of Treschè Conca, from there you take the road to Cassero that will take you to the fort crossing woods and pastures. Again, you can follow the route on your own with GPS or apps, or with a mountain bike guide.

The hotel provides bicycles for everyone, from E-bikes to Gravel bikes, Tandem, or Cargo Bikes for people with disabilities. You can also take advantage of the Bike Chalet with a workshop and mechanic, Bike Manager, Laundry, Packet lunch for lunch, and equipped hotel van for people with disabilities.
